We are posting an advertisement for our client "Northside Fine Foods" who is currently looking for an accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Director & General Manager, the role of Accountant encompasses comprehensive accounting responsibilities across a variety of business units.


Daily tasks will involve:

  • Managing transactional accounting operations, including Accounts Payable/Receivable and overseeing bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Creating and maintaining sales invoices, ensuring consistency between sales figures and the accounting system.

  • Overseeing inventory control and conducting cost of goods sold analyses

  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll for staff members

  • Preparing financial reports and performing month-end activities for multiple entities

  • Providing ad-hoc reports as requested by upper management

  • Conducting budgetary comparisons and forecasting

  • Supporting senior management in the refinement of processes and systems

  • Aiding in the annual audit process

  • Maintaining internal control systems

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports, balance sheets and profit/loss statements

  • Report on the company's financial health and liquidity

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements

The ideal applicant will possess a robust, hands-on accounting background, complemented by a formal Qualification. We are seeking a motivated and aspirational individual keen to advance within a rapidly growing organisation.

The candidate should ideally demonstrate:

  • 2 years of experience in relevant role

  • In-depth understanding of transactional accounting practices

  • Proficient in systems, with advanced skills in Ms. Excel, familiarity with MYOB or Xero would be advantageous

  • Effective communication skills and the capacity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
